Option 1: Standard E-mail Configuration
If you want to replace your existing e-mail server, the PowerElf can fill this job. The PowerElf provides secure, reliable and efficient email services for your users. The mail services offer POP3, IMAP, SMTP and webmail client access. The webmail supports 128-bit encryption to ensure that sensitive e-mail are protected. Antivirus and antispam services can be enabled and will filter incoming mail immediately. Your user accounts and passwords are set up on the PowerElf server directly.

Option 2: Delegate Server Configuration
Incoming and Outgoing mail is scanned for viruses and UBE (spam), by the PowerElf aAppliance, before it reaches your mail server. Having an e-mail mail proxy server can dramatically reduce the amount of work that your existing mail server is doing. By off-loading antispam, antivirus and reducing the amount of mail, you can extend the life of your existing hardware. Installing the PowerElf server is simple and requires little configuration. You can assign the PowerElf an IP address and change your MX record to point to the PowerElf. Another option would be to give your existing mail server a new IP address and give the old IP to the PowerElf. In this mode, the PowerElf is acting as your firewall as well.

The PowerElf can also be configured behind a firewall or as your firewall. This depends on your current network topography. The appliance is very capable of adapting to your needs.

Server-only mode only requires a single ethernet connection to work. This works perfectly if you already have a firewall in place. Mail can be scanned by the appliances smtp proxy services for spam as well as viruses in these various configurations. A mail proxy appliance can greatly extend the life of your existing mail server.
